We depart Cape Town early on day 1 and travel via the scenic Garden Route, passing through picturesque towns such as Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay en route to Port Elizabeth. From there it’s a relatively short distance to Addo. Besides the opportunity to view the world’s largest land mammal close up, other exciting and varied wildlife to be seen includes:Buffalo, black rhino, lion, leopard, kudu, eland, grey duiker, Cape grysbok, red hartebeest, bush pig, ant eater, caracal, black-backed jackal, mongoose, genet cat, black-footed cat, polecat and vervet monkeys. The release of spotted hyena into the park is also imminent. Addo is also home to a rich variety of bird life, with more than 150 species of raptors and other birds to be found. This exceptional wildlife and wilderness experience is a must for both local and overseas visitors.
