Lion, leopard and cheetah are commonly seen in the Nossob Valley region. Elsewhere, brown hyena and jackals are in abundance. The park is also home to gemsbok (oryx), springbok, hartebeest, eland and various Kalahari game, including the famous black-maned Kalahari lion.

We visit the Nossob and Mata Mata areas of the park, traversing the 4 X 4 route to Bitterpan, where we spend the night at Deception Valley Lodge which is just outside the reserves northern boundary.

For visitors with extra time available, we recommend the 8-day safari option, where the challenging Nossob 4 X 4 Eco-trail is included in our itinerary at the expense of the Bitterpan section of the tour.

On our return journey we stay at the spectacular Augrabies Falls that measure 56m in height and plunge into a 200m deep gorge, making it the 6th largest waterfall in the world!

• Important: Access to Kgalagadi is closely controlled. We must therefore receive bookings at least 4 weeks before the intended departure date in order to make reservations. Guests wanting to visit during local school holidays must book at least 8 weeks before departure date.
